<p>Position Purpose/Summary</p> <p>Responsible for providing reception, customer service, and administrative support at the Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center. This position serves as an initial point of contact for members, visitors, vendors, and community partners and assists in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized environment for older adults. Work is performed under the supervision of the Elder Affairs Director. No supervision is exercised over other employees.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the first point of contact by greeting members and visitors in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner </li><li>Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls; take and relay accurate messages </li><li>Receive front desk voicemail, return calls, and relay messages to the appropriate parties </li><li>Provide general information about center programs, services, events, and policies </li><li>Assist members with sign-ins, program registration, and activity enrollment procedures </li><li>Respond to routine inquiries and escalate more complex concerns to appropriate staff </li><li>Maintain daily attendance logs and program participation records. Ensure sign-in procedures are followed </li><li>Enter data into tracking systems, spreadsheets, or municipal software as required </li><li>Prepare, copy, and distribute flyers, newsletters, calendars, and program materials </li><li>Assist with maintaining updated bulletin boards, displays, and information racks </li><li>Support scheduling of rooms and activity spaces following established procedures </li><li>Assist with processing mail, deliveries, and outgoing correspondence </li><li>Other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent basic clerical skills such as typing and phone etiquette. </li><li>Must possess ability to work independently. </li><li>Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Possess basic computer skills including data input, internet use and email. </li><li>Ability to function with minimal supervision. </li><li>Must have strong organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Minimum of two years of successful experience working with the general public, preferably with seniors. </li></ul>
