<p>The Johnston County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for a Social Work Supervisor III position on the Continuous Quality Improvement team (CQI). </p> <p>The primary responsibility is to provide supervision to a team of social workers assigned to the CQI team whose primary role is to perform quality assurance reviews and training new and existing employees. This team supports Child Services and Adult & Family Services divisions. </p> <p>The position oversees the performance of the quality assurance case reviews of the specific program areas to ensure that case documentation is in accordance with state and federal law, agency and state policy, and expected practice. The position will assist with the design, coordination, and implementation of a training curriculum based on current law, policy, and practice standards of the specified program area. This position will assist with the analysis of review data and use it to assist with the development of training topics for specified program areas. This position will provide consultation and support to ensure services are implemented at the highest standard.</p> <p>The employee in this position will be responsible for developing their knowledge of current policy and practice through research and/or participation in training.</p> <p>This position will remain open until filled. </p> <p>The Child Services Division of the Johnston County Department of Social Services provides Protective Services through Intake, Assessments, After-Hours, In-Home Service, Permanency Planning, Adoptions, Extended Foster Care 18-21, LINKS, Training for Foster Parent Families and Adoptive Applicants. Programs must be administered in compliance with state policy and General Statutes.</p> <p>The Adult and Family Services Division provides Adult Protective Services, Guardianship, SA In Home Assistance, Adult Care Homes Licensing/Monitoring, In Home Aide program, Assisted Living/Nursing Placement Services, MAC, Representative Payee, Individual and Family Adjustment, and Adult Day Care. Programs must be administered in compliance with state policy and General Statutes.</p> <p>The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team is designed to define, measure and improve outcomes on an ongoing basis in the Child and Adult Services Division. The CQI team completes quality assurance reviews; coordinates State and Federal audits/reviews; coordinates and/or provides training to agency staff; compiles, analyzes and disseminates data; and completes other duties as assigned by the DSS Director or their designee. Although the team supports Adult Services, 85% of this position focuses on Child Welfare. </p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for understanding and interpreting federal, state, and local law and policy that guides practice in the Child Services and Adult Services division.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the CQI team demonstrates and communicates a thorough knowledge of relevant policies and practices that align with procedural requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and ensure the completion of quality assurance case reviews to ensure compliance with policies and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and ensure the coordination and completion of state quality assurance reviews, monitoring, and/or federal and state audits.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the main contact for consultation with program management and leadership to identify and conduct training on identified trends, topics, or areas of improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in internal assessments, audits, and quality reviews as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the team's efforts to collect, organize, and analyze data from cases to identify patterns and trends related to service delivery, effectiveness, customer outcomes, and policy adherence.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the presentation of findings and data to agency staff, leadership, or stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate analytical methods and procedures used by the team to determine how they might be improved.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the assessment of training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, or consultation with managers.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the development, conduct, and evaluation of in-depth and comprehensive curriculum and technical training sessions and programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct the development of alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER: The employee will be expected to work in emergency shelters and/or perform related disaster tasks.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. </p> </li><li> <p>Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. </p> </li><li> <p>Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. </p> </li><li> <p>Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs. </p> </li><li> <p>Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. </p> </li><li> <p>Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). </p> </li></ul> <p>Physicial Requirements</p> <p>Ability to perform manual work exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects. </p> <p>Master's degree in social work an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree in Social Work or related human service field</p> </li><li> <p>Five years direct Child Welfare practice (CPS, In-Home Services or Permanency Planning)</p> </li><li> <p>Two years supervising and training experience in Child Welfare</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills (writing and public speaking)</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Google Worksuite or Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and platforms that deliver virtual training</p> </li><li> <p>Experience developing, evaluating, and delivering course curriculum</p> </li></ul> <p>Must possess a valid NC Driver's license and have access to reliable transportation </p>
