Develops and maintains reports the University needs for operations, administering the reporting system and working with reporting business analyst to develop new reports, providing oversight of the University's chart of accounts, maintaining the ERP accounting structure the reports are based on, and leading process improvements through the development of reporting tools for all areas of the Controller's Office.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.</p> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>CPA of CGFO preferred. </li><li>PeopleSoft or other ERP Experience preferred. </li><li>Higher Education experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>An extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for higher education. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to higher education financial management and ability to analyze and interpret. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of university, state, federal and other external personnel. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, capital financing, debt management, tax, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment. </li><li>Knowledge of state government fiscal accounting processes. </li><li>Knowledge of financial statement analysis. </li><li>Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Manages and directs the development of reports and queries that support University departments in their daily operations. Oversees administration of the reporting system and supervises the Reporting Analyst position, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to report writers, and ensuring all reports are validated for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with University policies.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Directs the development of reports and queries that support the daily operations of all areas within the Controller's Office. Provides professional direction and advanced technical expertise to report writers, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and effective use of reporting tools, queries, and Excel-based analysis across the office.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Provides leadership in maintaining and managing the University's chart of accounts, ensuring integrity and consistency in the accounting structure. Advises departments on appropriate account usage and evaluates requests for new accounts.
