<p>We're seeking someone to join our team as a VP, Regional Lead for North America in CORDS KYC Guidance, Training and Implementation (GTI) Team. CORDS KYC Guidance, Training and Implementation (GTI) Team performs an important role in ensuring AML regulatory obligations are met by operationalization and implementation of KYC Policy and supporting the teams that implement the KYC requirements by providing training and query resolution. CORDS GTI partners closely with Financial Crime Risk (FCR) and Global Financial Crimes (GFC) to drive and support a structured and standardized approach towards policy implementation. The provision of training and guidance is key to this approach.</p> <p>The Regional Lead will provide strategic leadership, oversee change management processes, and ensure the successful execution of regional and global initiatives. This multifaceted role involves leading projects, managing teams, driving change implementation, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. The Regional Lead is responsible for prioritizing tasks, managing workflows, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.</p> <p>Excellence in both leadership and execution is required as Regional Leads are expected to guide their team through the full change lifecycle while ensuring that the region's specific needs are represented in global projects.</p> <p>In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within Risk, Regulatory & Resilience, which performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place. Read on…</p> <p>What you'll do in the role:</p> <p>Team Leadership & Line Management</p> <ul> <li>Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars </li><li>Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development </li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Delegate tasks and provide oversight on complex or high-impact projects, ensuring team members can manage elements of the change process. </li></ul> <p>Leadership & Project Management</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required </li><li>Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations </li><li>Prioritize and manage workflows, ensuring adequate resource allocation and timely delivery. </li><li>Provide strategic leadership for direct reports, helping to prioritize tasks and manage workloads. </li><li>Oversee the region's contribution to global initiatives, ensuring regional needs and compliance requirements are met. </li><li>Change Management & Process Implementation </li><li>Lead change management initiatives, overseeing the end-to-end process from initial request review to implementation. </li><li>Conduct impact analyses, focusing on operational, technological, and compliance-related implications. </li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify business requirements, define solution, and facilitate governance processes. </li><li>Ensure smooth execution of change initiatives by working closely with Change the Bank (CTB) and Run the Bank (RTB) operations teams. </li></ul> <p>Stakeholder Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations </li><li>Act as the primary liaison for key stakeholders, including Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Financial Crime Risk (FCR), Change the bank (CTB), Run the bank (RTB), and technology. </li><li>Work with regional compliance teams to ensure that local regulatory requirements are met across the region. </li><li>Syndicate and communicate policy changes and process updates to relevant stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment. </li><li>Engage in governance processes such as FCR (Financial Crimes Risk) and GFC calls to drive change strategy. </li></ul> <p>Resource Management & Workflow Prioritization</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the allocation of resources to various projects, ensuring that workloads are balanced, and timelines are met. </li><li>Maintain an updated "book of work," tracking progress and ensuring that all initiatives align with business priorities. </li><li>Manage the transition of change initiatives from planning to operational readiness, ensuring all teams are prepared and adequately resourced. </li></ul> <p>Operational Readiness & Training</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the creation of training materials for new processes or significant changes, delivering initial training sessions where necessary. </li><li>Collaborate with dedicated training teams to transition ongoing training responsibilities. </li><li>Ensure operational teams are aligned on priorities and timelines for implementing changes, facilitating a smooth transition into daily operations. </li></ul> <p>Reporting & Escalation Management</p> <ul> <li>Provide regular updates on project status, key escalations, and any regional challenges to senior leadership. </li><li>Address any roadblocks or urgent issues by working closely with teams and ensuring quick resolution. </li></ul> <p>Audit Support</p> <ul> <li>Ensure documentation and information is complete, accurate, and timely. </li><li>Address any issues or questions raised by the Audit team promptly. </li><li>Review Audit findings and reports and develop and implement action plans to address any identified weaknesses or recommendations. </li></ul> <p>What you'll bring to the role:</p> <ul> <li>Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service </li><li>Proven leadership experience in managing regional or global projects, with a focus on change management. </li><li>Strong understanding of compliance, financial crime, and technology processes. </li><li>Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-region initiatives. </li><li>Strong stakeholder management experience, particularly in liaising with compliance, advisory, and technology teams. </li><li>Experience in workflow and resource management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines. </li><li>Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget </li><li>Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk
