<p>General Job Description:</p> <p>Full-time Flex Schedule Instructor needed.</p> <p>The instructor will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the program objectives and academic standards adopted and established by the Upper Valley Career Center and the State of Ohio. The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including skill development, human relations, and leadership qualities which are necessary to obtain gainful employment. The instructor will perform in such a manner to ensure the best education possible for the students of the Upper Valley Career Center.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork, positive peer relationships and reinforces employability skills essential to today's workforce.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops lesson plans that engage adult student learning in both the classroom and laboratory setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors student progress using formal and informal assessment strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates with employers to provide real world experiences and opportunities for students.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares students for industry credential assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists program supervisor with curriculum development, course scheduling and Program Advisory Committee meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop daytime training opportunities and market the training to local manufacturers.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and enhance credentialing opportunities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5 years' work experience in field of expertise OR Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in field of expertise plus 3 years work experience in the industrial maintenance and machine repair profession with PLC experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior teaching experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Control Logix 5000, Logix Pro, RS Logix and HMI software preferred; in addition, experience with setting up relay logic and VFD's (variable frequency drives) preferred. Candidates with Siemens PLC experience will also be considered..</p> </li><li> <p>Robotics experience in theory and application, FANUC & Yaskawa/Motoman experience a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets all mandated health screening requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Appropriate placement on the Adult Education Full Time Certificated Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $54,553 (Class IV, Step 0) to $68,442 (Class IV, Step 5). The base contract is 225 days. Minimum workday 7.5 hours per day, exclusive of a lunch break.
