<p>The Math Coach supports teachers and school leadership in improving mathematics instruction and increasing student achievement. The Math Coach provides instructional coaching, professional development, curriculum support, data analysis, direct student instructional support, and modeling of effective teaching strategies aligned to state standards and school goals.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Instructional Coaching</p> <ul> <li>Provide ongoing coaching and support to math teachers through observations, feedback, co-planning, and co-teaching. </li><li>Model effective mathematics instructional strategies and classroom management techniques in classroom settings. </li><li>Demonstrate model lessons to support high-quality Tier I instruction and intervention practices. </li><li>Support teachers in implementing rigorous, standards-based instruction. </li><li>Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs. </li><li>Promote student-centered learning, problem-solving, and mathematical discourse in classrooms. </li><li>Support teachers with lesson planning, instructional delivery, and assessment practices. </li></ul> <p>Student Instructional Support</p> <ul> <li>Work directly with students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings to strengthen mathematical understanding and skills. </li><li>Support intervention and enrichment opportunities for students based on assessment and performance data. </li><li>Assist with identifying students needing additional academic support and collaborate with teachers to implement targeted strategies. </li><li>Help create and maintain a positive, engaging, and achievement-focused learning environment for students. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Plan and facilitate professional learning sessions for teachers and staff. </li><li>Support new teachers with onboarding and instructional guidance. </li><li>Lead collaborative planning meetings and professional learning communities (PLCs). </li><li>Share best practices, research-based strategies, and instructional resources. </li></ul> <p>Curriculum and Assessment Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist with curriculum alignment and pacing guides. </li><li>Analyze student assessment data to identify strengths, gaps, and instructional priorities. </li><li>Help teachers develop intervention and enrichment plans based on data. </li><li>Support preparation for district and state assessments. </li></ul> <p>Leadership and Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with school administrators to support instructional goals and school improvement initiatives. </li><li>Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to instructional decision-making. </li><li>Maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and families. </li><li>Support a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Monitor implementation of instructional programs and initiatives. </li><li>Maintain documentation related to coaching cycles, professional development, and data analysis. </li><li>Perform other duties assigned by the principal or designee. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Able to pass required background check and DCFS State Central Registry review </li><li>Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship </li><li>Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Possess a valid Louisiana Teacher certification with Math endorsement or should meet minimum certification requirements for a Teacher as outlined in the Louisiana DOE Bulletin 746 and CSAL, Inc. school board requirements are as they exist at the time of hire. </li><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience in mathematics. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in mathematics instruction and student achievement growth. </li><li>Experience with instructional coaching, mentoring, or teacher leadership preferred. </li><li>Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to analyze data and use it to improve instruction. </li><li>Knowledge of curriculum standards, assessment practices, and instructional technology. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong instructional leadership </li><li>Knowledge of effective math pedagogy </li><li>Coaching and mentoring skills </li><li>Data-driven decision making </li><li>Collaboration and team building </li><li>Problem-solving and organizational skills </li><li>Professionalism and confidentiality </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>This is a 9-month, onsite, in person position. Usual school working conditions </li><li>May be noisy during high student traffic </li><li>Temperature may change from very cold to very hot due to weather and location </li><li>May require occasional after-school meetings, professional development sessions, or district trainings. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
