<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Public Health Program Specialist is responsible for developing, Implementing, and coordinating health-related services for pregnant and post-partum women and children 0-5 years of age and their families within a comprehensive model of preventative care. All employees are expected to perform</p> <p>their duties in alignment with the vision andvalues of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor Degree in Nursing </li><li>Licensed Registered Nurse required </li><li>One year of community health nursing, with pediatric or health education background preferred, with the ability to effectively plan and conduct health education services. </li><li>Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team. </li><li>Demonstrated skill in providing community health services, including through home visits, within low-income communities to families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds </li><li>Skill in teaching and mentoring professionals from a various disciplinesand backgrounds. </li><li>Knowledge of the health care system and community health care resources. Knowledge of community health theories and best practices. </li><li>Knowledge of the field of family violence and familiarity with reporting laws. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to execute projects in an independent and responsive manner. </li><li>Experience with staff supervision and program development. </li><li>Skill in organizing and maintaining a comprehensive record-keeping system. </li><li>Ability to speak clearly,concisely, and in an organized manner, along with the skill in writing clearly to articulate concepts and ideas in a logical fashion. </li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish language skills required </li><li>CPR/BLS;Fire Safety Cert; Valid CA driver's license and ability to make home visits to various Los Angeles locations. </li></ul> <p>Overview</p> <p>Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California.
