<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is seeking an Entry-Level Biologist / Wetland Ecologist to join our Northeast Planning and Permitting team. The position reports to either our Foxborough, MA or Boston, MA office.</p> <p>The successful candidate will assist field assessments for various ecological projects in the Northeast, while offering support to projects across the country. This position involves supporting wetland and waterbody delineations, organizing and summarizing field-collected data, identifying protected plant species and related habitats, compiling survey reports and permit applications, as well as construction monitoring, inspection, and oversight.</p> <p>The position includes a mixture of field and office duties. It is likely to require long days outdoors in variable weather and terrain at times, as well as supporting reporting, business, and organizational development. Our projects at times require short-term travel and occasionally working long weeks. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be physically prepared to work in difficult conditions, and be eager to become a critical part of the WSP team. The candidate should have demonstrated exposure to field data collection, species identification, working as part of diverse and dynamic project team, and growth through development of new skills.</p> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field </li><li>Experience with assisting or leading wetland delineation activities or other ecological surveys </li><li>Willingness to conduct environmental inspections on construction sites </li><li>Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Knowledge of the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineations Manual and appropriate regional supplements </li><li>Exposure to Clean Water Act (CWA) and Endangered Species Act (ESA) regulations </li><li>Experience with writing technical reports or permit sections </li><li>Working knowledge of GPS technologies </li><li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record </li><li>Must be willing and able to travel throughout the region with potential travel throughout the U.S. </li></ul> <p>#LI-SS2</p>
