<p>North Reading Middle School is seeking a candidates to serve as an Assistant Stage Director for the Musical (Hornet Productions). North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.</p> <p>This position is expected to be roughly 52 hours (0.5 FTE for Middle School Musical stipend positions) between now and February.</p> <p>This role is to provide our students with a creative outlet and a chance to enhance their theatrical skills while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for students to explore their artistic talents and prepare for future opportunities in the performing arts.</p> <p>Essential duties</p> <ul> <li>Oversee student groups during the design and build process, including but not limited to, the following: </li><li>Assist with research </li><li>Assist with set up of materials </li><li>Assist with clean up after a work session </li><li>Assist with overseeing the building and painting of sets and props </li><li>Monitor and address behavioral issues that might arise </li><li>Mentor groups of students on how best to move sets and props on an off the stage </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in performing arts, play direction, and/or play producing preferred </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently </li><li>Citizenship, residency, or work visa required </li></ul> <p>The North Reading Public Schools (NRPS) provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students develop both their social-emotional and academic skills and abilities through an exploration of a wide range of content areas, the arts, athletics, and extra-curricular opportunities.
