The approved grant proposal stipulates that the program will provide instruction during the academic year and summer components for program students who are high school students in the qualified Dayton Public School.</p> <p>The hourly pay rate for this position is $28.75 and has a maximum of 28 hours per week.</p> <p>This is a grant funded position and contingent upon those funds associated with the grant.</p> <p>We are currently seeking tutors with expertise in math, science, and Spanish. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide customer service and/or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude in teaching, approachability, adaptability, strong problem solving and desire to identify and support student success </li><li>Engage in behaviors that encourage student learning </li><li>Provide academic instruction in the classroom and laboratory setting </li><li>Provide creativity in learning both in and out of the traditional classroom setting. </li><li>Explain and clarify classroom and textbook information </li><li>Assist students in developing good study skills and habits </li><li>Provide information about academic and study aids </li><li>Provide clear and consistent feedback on course material and student academic work </li><li>Consult with high school instructors and college faculty if needed </li><li>Interpret rules, definitions, and usage etc. </li><li>Guide students through sample problems or examples </li><li>Attend staff meetings and orientations as scheduled an assigned by Project Director </li><li>Instructors also: develop curriculum, develop syllabi, develop and administer tests to students, grade papers, evaluate the performance of each student and disseminates grades, and provides supplemental instruction and tutoring </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education in one of the following areas: language arts, mathematics, science, biology, or chemistry, foreign language - Spanish or French required; master's degree preferred </li><li>Must have teaching certification and/or licensure required </li><li>Minimum of 1-3 years of teaching experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Questions</p> <p>Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Do you possess an active teaching license or certification? </li></ul> </li><li> <p>Yes</p> </li><li> <p>No</p> </li><li> <ul> <li>Do you possess a Bachelor's degree in Education?
