It will require - weekends, holidays, and potential for 3rd shift coverage as needed for vacations/call-ins, etc.</p> <p>General Definition and Scope of Job</p> <p>Medical Laboratory Scientist I</p> <p>Performs analysis of blood, urine, stool and body fluids. Evaluates reports on the basis of the clinical and analytical conditions and is responsible for maintaining the quality of the laboratory testing.</p> <p>Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (aka: Medical Technology) or related discipline </li><li>Registry or Certification by professional organization such as the ASCP or equivalent is required. </li><li>Continuation of employment is contingent on passing of ASCP or equivalent within 18 months of hire. </li><li>Ability to read, speak and write English effectively </li></ul> <p>Critical Demands of the Job</p> <p>Physical ability to respond to emergency and patient care needs Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment, use computer terminals, draw blood specimens, perform laboratory tests, etc. Ability to be trained and oriented in all areas of the clinical laboratory as required</p> <p>Ability to lift 20 pounds</p> <p>Our Commitment</p> <p>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
