<p>General Definition of Work</p> <p>The student placement coordinator, under general supervision, performs support work with limited decision-making discretion assisting with the implementation of student placement processes. Position reviews transfer requests and coordinates appointments for hardship caregiver applications, residency appeal applications, and parent/guardian interviews. Employee performs school-based and district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Director of Student Placement and Records.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Salary/Status</p> <p>NC 10 Hourly Non-Certified Schedule/ Full-time, 12 months</p> <p>Reports To</p> <p>Director, Student Placement and Records</p> <p>Place of Work</p> <p>The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures </li><li>Perform administrative duties/office support work for the department </li><li>Respond to student record related questions from school staff and outside agencies </li><li>Maintain accurate student databases, records, and reports that are State compliant </li><li>Responsible for accurate data entry of hardships, transfer, and residency appeals </li><li>Create and monitor student record data tracker that keeps the department informed and organized </li><li>Perform regular file reviews to verify all required documentation is present and file is compliant </li><li>Compile and distribute school lists of students' names being approved or denied to their school for transfer/reassignments </li><li>Prepare documentation, workflows, standard operating procedures, reports, memos, and other correspondence as requested </li><li>Develop and deliver professional development to school-based administrative assistant staff that support compliance efforts </li><li>Attend professional development and other meetings as required </li><li>Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Associates degree preferred </li><li>Equivalent combination of education and experience </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation </li><li>Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings </li></ul>
