<p>Company :</p> <p>Highmark Inc.</p> <p>Job Description :</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>This job is responsible for the strategic activities related to retention and new sales in terms of profitability and membership. This includes the development and execution of the vision, sales plans, strategic objectives, policies, procedures and distribution channels that support corporate objectives. Provides leadership and direction to the division. The incumbent's main focus is on the acquisition, retention and profitability of local accounts, broker relationships and exploring new distribution channels.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Overall accountability for the Highmark DE board - Communication, Collaboration, Relationship, etc. </li><li>Owning the relationship with the regulator and owning all filings, feedback and follow up related to market conduct exams, etc. </li><li>Extreme awareness and influence over the regulated entity's RBC and other public facing financial reporting (RBC, entity/enterprise level financials ) </li><li>Representing Highmark on key boards (e.g., HIE, Chamber, Development, etc…) </li><li>Being the face to all internal and external needs as the Highmark DE executive (e.g., media, all employee meetings, public events, etc..) </li><li>Assisting with and being a thought partner on the Individual, Small Group, Senior and Medicaid P&Ls </li><li>Establishing relationships with the Top 3 health system CEOs (CCHS, Bayhealth, Beebe) and being a strong partner to the Market Executive in DE </li><li>Staff development and succession planning </li><li>Setting culture to be consistent with corporate including compliance </li><li>Develop and implement the market sales strategy. </li><li>Ensure that member and profit targets are attained. </li><li>Oversee acquisition of new accounts and retain current accounts. </li><li>Drive acquisition of ancillary business. </li><li>Manage association and broker relationships </li><li>Provide incentives for brokers to sell Highmark products. </li><li>Explore new and alternative distribution channels for products. </li><li>Build the Highmark brand in the market and/or community. </li><li>Maintain appropriate mix of products and services. </li><li>Manage provider relationships and explore new partnerships. </li><li>Ensure local entity compliance with regulatory requirements. </li><li>Report to and consult with local Board of Directors. </li><li>Serve as site leader for market office(s). </li><li>Other duties as assigned or requested. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management or Health Care </li></ul> <p>Substitutions</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Business Administration </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>10 years of progressively responsible Healthcare experience in Sales or supporting Health Plans </li><li>7 Years in a management or leadership role </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>State Producer's Licenses in Accident, Health and Casualty or must be obtained within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>State Producer's License in Life </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Strong financial skills, strong planning skills, multi-year sales experience, multi-site account experience, sales management experience, broad background in sales, knowledge of general insurance principles, an understanding of indemnity and managed care products </li><li>Sales management and operational experience (e.g. claims, membership) </li><li>Technical experience in underwriting, care management, and time tracking </li><li>Sales and financial aptitude, knowledge of customer needs and market trends </li><li>Extensive knowledge of Highmark products including ancillary products </li><li>Demonstrated experience in budget management, resources management, planning skills </li><li>Excellent oral, written and presentation skills as well as conceptual and analytical skills </li><li>The incumbent must take charge of, and accountability for, the planning and development of Regional Accounts strategies while assuring Corporate deadlines and objectives are met </li></ul> <p>Language (Other than English):</p> <p>None</p> <p>Travel Requirement:</p> <p>0% - 25%</p> <p>PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Position Type</p> <p>Office-based</p> <p>Teaches / trains others regularly</p> <p>Occasionally</p> <p>Travel regularly from the office to various work sites or from site-to-site</p> <p>Rarely</p> <p>Works primarily out-of-the office selling products/services (sales employees)</p> <p>Never</p> <p>Physical work site required</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Lifting: up to 10 pounds</p> <p>Constantly</p> <p>Lifting: 10 to 25 pounds</p> <p>Occasionally</p> <p>Lifting: 25 to 50 pounds</p> <p>Rarely</p> <p>Disclaimer: The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
