<p>Job Title: Human Resources Generalist</p> <p>Location: Birmingham AL, USA</p> <p>Position Reports To: Human Resources Manager</p> <p>Job Classification: Full Time / Non-Exempt</p> <p>Company: Electra Grid Solutions</p> <p>electragridsolutions.com</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works with Executive Management and Supervisors. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefit administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance.</p> <p>Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Participating in Job Fairs and recruitment opportunities </li><li>Manage job postings, interviews for office personnel, and the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions </li><li>Conduct new hire orientation for field employees for the designated work locations </li><li>Schedule drug screens, schedule DOT physicals, background checks, Clearinghouse checks, and PPE for new hires and current employees. </li><li>Creating, sorting, and reviewing new employee personnel files </li><li>Create, sort, and manage driver qualification files for DOT Drivers </li><li>Employee benefits review and enrollment </li><li>Data entry with accuracy of new employee data in the applicable HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) </li><li>Reporting - Review and process various weekly/monthly/quarterly reports with accuracy and timely manner when assigned (paid time off, 401K, weekly new hires, unused deduction report) </li><li>Employee Leave - Manage and monitor employee medical leave to include FMLA, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability </li><li>Special Projects - Assist HR Manager with special projects, implementation of new processes, benefits open enrollment, and various HR audits </li><li>Process employee terminations with accuracy and in a timely manner for designated work locations </li><li>Manage the random program quarterly with the safety team and the vendor </li><li>Manage the employee Substance Abuse Program follow-up </li><li>Process employees' pay increase/decrease, job classification updates, and transfers </li><li>Assist with employee relations for the assigned </li><li>Assist in the preparation of company HR policies and procedures </li><li>Process employment verifications, unemployment requests, medical orders, and other administrative requests </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information </li><li>Excellent organization and time management skills </li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>High level of professionalism and integrity </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards </li><li>Consists of sedentary work.
