<p>Description</p> <p>Boulder CountyHuman ServicesDepartment is seeking to hire aLobby Lead Worker.This position oversees the work of entry and journey level Eligibility Technicians and performs complex technical duties in determining eligibility for public assistance programs provided by Human Services.The Community Support Division needs someone who is passionate about working with people, troubleshooting difficult cases, mentoring staff, and continually looking at current processes with the goal of continuous improvement using LEAN and process improvement strategies within our strategic goals:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Boulder County Residents have access to public benefits programs that support basic human needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Boulder County residents who are eligible stay on benefits.</p> </li><li> <p>People have the information they need to make life decisions.</p> </li></ul> <p>As a lead worker you'll be the subject matter expert in interpreting policy and processing cases.In our lobbies, you'll assist to de-escalate clients and provide support in processing difficult questions.You will work with a group of eligibility technicians by providing team support, answering questions around policy, processing cases, mentoring eligibility staff, providing back up support and management to the team manager, and continually looking at current processes and providing feedback on areas where processes can be improved.</p> <p>We are seeking an individual who enjoys working with others, has strong communication and project management skills and has shown success in mentoring and coaching employees. This position will work remotely and out of St. Vrain Community Hub at 515 Coffman StLongmont,Southeast Community Hub at1755 S. Public RoadLafayette, and North Broadway at 3460 Broadway St.Boulder, Colorado. The expectation of at least 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt(eligible for overtime).</p> <p>Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.</p> <p>Hiring Salary Range:$59,592.00 - $72,654.00Annually</p> <p>Tentative Hiring Timeline:</p> <ul> <li>Phone Screening: Week of May 26th </li><li>First Round Interviews: May 29th </li><li>Second Round Interviews: June 5th </li><li>Reference Check: June 9th </li></ul> <p>New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). Boulder County offers bountiful benefits, including pension contributions.</p> <p>Boulder County employees may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Visit studentaid.gov for more information.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Trains and oversees the work of entry and journey level Eligibility Technicians who are responsible for assisting clients in our lobbies </li><li>Assembles, reviews, and verifies information supplied by applicants </li><li>Approves cases, and assists with determinations on difficult cases </li><li>Interprets and maintains a thorough and updated knowledge of numerous applicable manuals, and their related service and resource information </li><li>Interprets and explains rules, regulations, appeal rights and appeal procedures to applicants and recipients </li><li>Continually reviews processes in place using LEAN methodology </li><li>Coordinates with other agencies and community organizations to assist the applicant/recipient </li><li>Acts as arbitrator when problems occur between applicants and employees </li><li>Participates in county dispute resolutions and state hearings </li><li>Determines the need for recovery of funds or referral for fraud investigation and completes reports to the proper investigative personnel </li><li>May supervise, counsel, and evaluate the work of other employees and recommends personnel actions in the areas of hiring, discipline, and termination </li><li>Performs related work, as required </li><li>May be reassigned during emergency situations </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged.
