<p>POSITION SUMMARY Reports To: Director of Outpatient Services Summary: Decatur County Memorial Hospital, is seeking a skilled and compassionate EEG/EMG Technician to join our Neurology services team. The technician will be responsible for conducting high-quality electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) studies, supporting accurate diagnosis and care planning for patients with neurological and muscular disorders. This role is vital in our rural care setting, where versatility, autonomy, and patient-centered care are paramount. Work Schedule: Varies SKILLS # ABILITIES Education High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited EEG/EMG technologist program or equivalent clinical training. 1#2 years of experience in EEG/EMG testing. Strong knowledge of EEG/EMG principles, anatomy, and neurophysiology. Experience Experience working in a rural or critical access hospital environment. Familiarity with EMR systems and digital EEG/EMG platforms (e.g., Cadwell, Nihon Kohden, Natus). Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility. Certificates # Licenses Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Certification by ABRET (R. EEG T. or R. EP T.) and/or AAET (R.NCS.T.).# Or must be obtained within 2 years. Other Requirements Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Adaptability in a dynamic, multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
