Previous applicants are still under consideration.</p> <p>Position Vacancy Announcement</p> <p>Florida A&M University's Transitional Services Department is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Academic Programs vacancy.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsible for managing one or more admissions and/or registration functions and for formulating and recommending policies and procedures to effectively administer such functions; and interprets admissions or registration rules and policies and for recommending new and improved programs and systems.</p> <p>Assists program Director with resolving specific admissions and/or registration problems and in disseminating information in regard to SUS/University rules, policies, and contracts; May serve as liaison between university administrators, students, parents, faculty, staff, and others regarding admissions/registration activities in the absence of program director; May be responsible for participation in recruitment efforts and execution of the institution's recruitment plans; and reviews agreements with partnering schools and districts are in accordance with college policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.</p> <p>Brings non-compliant or potentially non-compliant issues to supervisor's immediate attention. Submits final approved agreements to state agency portals by appointed.</p> <p>Coordinates articulation agreement discussions, admissions, recruitment, retention and dual enrollment activities at high school campuses. Responsible for coordinating and implementing assigned activities of High School and Parent Engagement. Activities may include (but not are limited to) services coordinating with counterparts in high schools to recruit students into academic pathways. Facilitates community engagement, counseling potential students and their parents, related to dual enrollment activities, campus related academic programs, and student support initiatives. May assist in recommending and formulating policies and procedures to effectively administer programs and services; and may exercise independent judgment in areas of responsibility.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.</p> <p>Recommended Competencies</p> <p>Sensitivity to and understanding of multi-cultural environments;</p> <p>Knowledge of outreach methods, recruitment strategies, school relations, and student services;</p> <p>Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures, and resources for first year students and their families;</p> <p>Knowledge of student and academic programs, policies, and procedures;</p> <p>Knowledge of FERPA requirements;</p> <p>Knowledge of student information systems;</p> <p>Knowledge of academic advising processes in a higher education setting;</p> <p>Experienced working with multi-cultural perspectives; and</p> <p>Experienced working in a busy, multi-faceted program or department, preferably in a university or college setting.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization from an accredited institution and two years of higher education experience;</p> <p>Skilled at communicating in writing and orally, including public speaking;</p> <p>Skilled at conflict resolution and collaborating with others to build consensus;</p> <p>Skilled at working with computer systems and database;</p> <p>Skilled at handling multiple projects and carrying out required project details;</p> <p>Ability to organize and chair meetings, lead workshops, facilitate group discussions;</p> <p>Ability to work with and evaluate first year families' needs and create programs to meet those needs;</p> <p>Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present parent outcome data;</p> <p>Ability to use a range of technology and tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, publishing software and email platforms;</p> <p>Ability to direct, problem solve, develop, and delegate as situations dictate; and</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.</p> <p>Anticipated Salary Range</p> <p>The hiring salary is $55,000.00.</p> <p>Pay Plan</p> <p>This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
