Allen Park Schools</p> <p>District:</p> <p>&nbsp Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Position: K-12 Special Education Paraprofessional</p> <p>Role and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work with students individually and in small groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise students before and after class/lunch.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep students on task during instruction activities, maintaining consistency throughout the day.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and behavior plans such as: self-help skills, socialization, language development, toilet and hygiene training, and behavior management.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the IEP team and use best practice interventions to assist students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teacher in preparation and maintenance of classroom materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Accompany students during time in the hallway and on the playground.</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with students on an ongoing and consistent basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep records and data as required by the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as requested by the building administrator or designee.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Education Requirements</p> <p>Minimum of two years (60 credit hours) or Associate's degree from an accredited collegiate institution.</p> <p>OR Pass a state approved paraprofessional assessment</p> <p>OR Other requirements as required by the Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public School District</p> <p>Experience working with special education students is preferred.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Rate of Pay</p> <p>7.25 hours/day, 40 weeks/year (follow student schedule)</p> <p>Pay according to Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>Starting hourly rate $15.91</p>
