The candidate will be part of the newly formed siRNA team to build an internal siRNA platform for translational research to develop transformational therapeutics for immunology, neuroscience and oncology. The successful candidate will be part of a growing therapeutic siRNA group working with cross-disciplinary teams internally and externally. The candidate will serve as a lead scientist on their own project and contribute scientific insights into multiple other projects.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Function as a principal investigator to advance internal siRNA technology and programs related to immunology indications </li><li>Independently responsible for project science within their area of expertise on one or more project teams </li><li>Collaborate with therapeutic area colleagues to advance siRNA technology applied to internal programs </li><li>Direct research and mentor a group of scientists within area of expertise </li><li>Optimize internal siRNA platforms for functional tissue specific delivery </li><li>Manage external CROs and internal resources to meet budget and timeline constraints </li><li>Collaborate closely with internal colleagues to advance cross-functional collaborative experiments and projects </li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert for siRNA delivery to target tissues and experimental design & execution </li><li>Anticipate and critically evaluate scientific advanced or competitive threats and respond with appropriate new strategies </li><li>Generate new scientific proposals and lead those efforts </li><li>Clearly communicate technology achievements and needs with management and cross functional collaborators </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS with typically 14+ years, MS with typically 12+ years, or PhD with typically 6+ years of related work experience in biotech or pharma </li><li>Previous experience with siRNA antibody conjugates and downstream assays to measure efficacy </li><li>Experience with antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) </li><li>Deep experience in cell culture techniques and downstream assays to evaluate RNAi compounds </li><li>Previous experience in animal study design and downstream assays to evaluate genetic medicines </li><li>Experience with extrahepatic delivery of therapeutic siRNA is a plus </li><li>Well versed with previous experience in the field of immunology (preferred) </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
