<p>Overview</p> <ul> <li>Must live in Orlando and be in office 4 days a week* </li></ul> <p>JOB OVERVIEW</p> <p>The Senior Counsel, Real Estate analyzes, drafts, negotiates, and provides advice relating to all facets of the real property owned and leased by the Company. From time to time, the attorney will also work on the acquisition of properties for new restaurants. Counsel interfaces with members of the Asset Management, Facilities, Operations, Tax and Property Accounting teams, as well as other members of the Legal team. Counsel will communicate with landlords, developers and neighboring property owners, or their respective counsel.</p> <p>Overview of Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Analyze and provide advice with respect to Company's real estate portfolio, including leases, surveys, title documents, eminent domain and environmental matters. </li><li>Apply innovative problem-solving skills in developing strategic solutions; includes providing legal advice and applying sound business judgment in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. </li><li>Negotiate and draft documents; draft and respond to legal notices. </li><li>Address all legal aspects of new property acquisition through closing and construction. </li><li>Effectively manage outside counsel when retained. </li><li>Be an effective resource for the real estate team. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 7 years of law firm or in-house experience as a real estate attorney with emphasis on commercial real estate transactions, including leasing </li><li>Licensed to practice law and in good standing under the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel in Florida </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school </li></ul> <p>OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, document drafting and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of in-house clients, peers and subordinates, and interact effectively with third parties </li><li>Demonstrated ability to independently make decisions regarding complex property documents with an in-depth understanding of the risks involved </li><li>Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Proven analytical ability to recognize and creatively resolve issues </li></ul>
