<p>The Press Assistant II - Rolltender performs any Press related tasks assigned by the Pressmen or Pressroom Supervisors. You will be responsible for the installation of rolls, removal of empty cores and shafts, running the rewinder, and ensuring the levels of ink fountains, water, and acid are at appropriate levels.</p> <p>WHAT YOULL DO ON THE A-TEAM:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain correct ink and paper and maintain daily press supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain PH of fountain solution and water tanks.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain correct paper reports, make sure all rolls are properly identified at core; rewrap and return any stub rolls with correct stub roll tag attached.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for accurate counts on all jobs; taking counts at shift change.</p> </li><li> <p>Help to get units ready to print.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in blanket and plate changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in roller adjustment and changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Check running quality, both printing and folding.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep ink fountains clean and full.</p> </li><li> <p>Get paper and ink ready for next job.</p> </li><li> <p>Check all oil levels on press.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in pre-setting of ink fountains.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all duties safely and in accordance with all safety rules and requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a high level of confidentiality on all matters involving the pressroom department.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers and employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all special duties assigned by management.</p> </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOULL NEED:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent. A technical associate's degree is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>1+ years of previous experience working in the print industry within a Press department.</p> </li><li> <p>Mechanical aptitude and knowledge.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing and able to obtain a certification and drive a fork truck.</p> </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Frequent standing.</p> </li><li> <p>Frequent use of hands to type, finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to talk or listen.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching.</p> </li><li> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.</p> </li><li> <p>Stand, stoop and walk most of the day.</p> </li><li> <p>Push, lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to work in confined areas.</p> </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>The employee works indoors in both office and production environments. Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts and in high places. He/she will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
