<p>JOB OPENING</p> <p>Bridgeport Public Schools</p> <p>45 Lyon Terrace</p> <p>Bridgeport, Connecticut 06604</p> <p>HUMAN RESOURCES SUPPORT ASSISTANT</p> <p>Unaffiliated - 12 months (40 Hours per week)</p> <p>Salary: $50,000</p> <p>Under general supervision performs professional work of considerable difficulty overseeing a range of functions related to human resource management, employee development and customer service. Assists employees and supervisors with all human resource needs and performs related work as required.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Support the HR Team with maintenance and administration of the HR office, confidentiality agreements, confidential documents drafted, organizing of files, HR forms. </li><li>Assist with recruitment, onboarding and processing of all non-certified and certified staff </li><li>Process new hires. Follow new hire protocol, as set forth by HR Department, CSDE and other appropriate State of Connecticut Departments with all new hires. Ensure proper communication and continuous dialogue with all necessary departments during onboarding and processing </li><li>Maintain filing and organizational systems for department, including but not limited to employee files and profiles, for all past and current employees. Support the maintenance of any additional files of the Human Resources Department to support easy retrieval and reporting of information as needed. Ensure the timely archiving of personnel files </li><li>Properly maintain any charts/spreadsheets regarding new hires. </li><li>Maintain current folder of forms, form letters, memos, et al on HR shared drive for easy access by all department staff. </li><li>Assist in the processing and managing incoming/outgoing calls, mail, information, and correspondence. </li><li>Assist in posting position openings in a timely fashion both internally and externally as needed. </li><li>Assist in communicating with certified staff regarding certification status and any pending state requirements. Assist new and veteran staff with certification paperwork and information as necessary. </li><li>Assist the HR Team with special projects/assignments. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree preferred </li><li>Excellent Communication and Writing Skills </li><li>Ability to communicate in a professional, positive and effective manner </li><li>Ability to work in a team centered environment </li><li>Prior experience in human resources management and experience in HRIS computer applications (data base management) required </li><li>Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Ability to work independently as well as a hands-on team member </li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality </li><li>Ability to work under pressure </li><li>Ability to meet timelines </li></ul> <p>Posting is Open Until Filled</p> <p>It is the policy of the Bridgeport Board of Education not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, present or past mental disorder, mental retardation, or learning ability, in any of its education programs, activities, or employment practices.
