<p>Position Objective:</p> <p>The Sr. Accounting Analyst is responsible for all aspects of joint interest billing (JIB) and various month-end close activities, including journal entries and analyses.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at working with large data sets and thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. This position will lead all processes related to joint interest billings and manage key relationships with partners. Additionally, the role will play a pivotal part in supporting strategic projects focused on process improvement and digital transformation initiatives.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Execute the complete joint interest billing (JIB) process and related sub-processes. </li><li>Prepare and post month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical analyses. </li><li>Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and propose internal control enhancements. </li><li>Serve as the accounting department's subject matter expert for joint interest billings, promoting cross-functional collaboration. </li><li>Support special projects related to process improvements, acquisitions, ERP system enhancements, and more. </li><li>Create clear, organized documentation of routine processes to drive continuous improvement. </li><li>Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience and Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. </li><li>4+ years of relevant work experience. </li><li>Solid knowledge of financial accounting principles (GAAP). </li><li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. </li><li>Experience working with large data sets and deriving actionable insights. </li><li>Interest in and familiarity with analytical tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI). </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. </li><li>High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. </li><li>Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex business processes. </li><li>Strong respect for corporate ethics, internal controls, and compliance. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience and Education:</p> <ul> <li>Accounting experience within the upstream E&P (Exploration & Production) industry. </li><li>Experience with joint interest billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. </li><li>Familiarity with Quorum ERP systems, specifically QCA and QCFS modules. </li><li>CPA certification. </li></ul> <p>Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.</p>
