<p>Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)</p> <p>Department: Nursing</p> <p>Reports To: Subacute Detox Nurse Manager</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned,</p> <ol> <li> <p>Follows established standards of nursing practices and implements facility policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret existing policies and procedures to charge nurses, client assistants, clients, families, and physicians</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and evaluates all direct client care and initiates corrective action as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Make frequent rounds in the facility</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain report from nurse he/she is relieving and records sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledgeably and competently perform basic nursing skills</p> </li><li> <p>Identify client problems and emergency situations and initiates and immediate plan of action according to facility policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Follow, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of the Client Rights program</p> </li><li> <p>Follow admission procedures and communicates client admissions to other departments, physicians and ancillary service providers</p> </li><li> <p>Provide clinical supervision of client assistant</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with covering staffing and making calls to cover any staff call offs</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the employee evaluation process by providing information on the clinical performance of client assistants</p> </li><li> <p>Receive medication delivery from pharmacy, checks and documents medications received</p> </li><li> <p>Administer and document a comprehensive assessment of each client as needed or assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the development of an accurate and comprehensive treatment plan based on the client needs</p> </li><li> <p>Plans, facilitates, and documents treatment groups in accordance with clients treatment plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer PRN medications and treatments as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Notify the physician, when necessary, of changes in clients conditions, weight, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal lab/x-ray results and any other unusual observations</p> </li><li> <p>Document client care provided and the clients response or lack of response to care provided</p> </li><li> <p>Personally obtain continuing education 22. Supervise response to clients calls for assistance</p> </li><li> <p>Follow facility discharge/transfer procedure and coordinates discharge/transfer with other departments, physicians, and ancillary service providers</p> </li><li> <p>Possess clear written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a charge nurse and cover the floor/various shifts as needed for the best interest of the facility</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Subacute Detox Nurse Manager</p> </li><li> <p>Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at anytime</p> </li><li> <p>Supports and assists in crisis intervention and at all other times deemed appropriate in a manner consistent with SMR policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of Silver Maple Recoverys policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan, State Licensing standards, and managed care regulations</p> </li></ol> <p>Certificates and Licenses:</p> <p>Current CPR and First Aid certificate</p> <p>Current TB test</p> <p>Valid drivers license</p> <p>RN license</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Individuals may be required to:</p> <p>Sit or stand for extended periods of time</p> <p>Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities</p> <p>Proper lifting techniques, ability to read computer screens and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required</p> <p>Must be able to lift 50 to 75lbs. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles</p> <p>Must be able to balance, limb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <p>Must be able to read and write the English language</p> <p>Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions</p> <p>____ I have read and understand to provisions of this job description.
