<p>Summary Objective</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the services provided by the WIC & Health Start programs. Direct grant funding and deliverables for both WIC and Healthy Start programs.</p> <p>This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. </li><li>Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. </li><li>Participates in and oversees yearly skills competency for all nursing staff in assigned departments. </li><li>Participates in public health preparedness activities. </li><li>Ensures that staff maintains competency in their work areas. </li><li>Creates community partnerships and fosters relationships to expand program services. </li><li>Plans clinics and coordinates staffing to ensure prompt, quality services. </li><li>Coordinates services and referrals with other tribal and IHS programs. </li><li>Utilizes available data and reports to evaluate the success of the program </li><li>Reviews client surveys to improve client services. </li><li>Monitors clinics for compliance with federal, state, and local policies and procedures. </li><li>Utilizes WIC monitoring reviews to identify areas that need improvement. </li><li>Submits written and oral reports as required to the Board of Health & LMPHW director. </li><li>Submits grants or requests for additional funding as needed. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related discipline. </li><li>Five (5) years of experience with the WIC program, including two (2) years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. </li></ul> <p>OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Must wear personal protective equipment as mandated by OSHA. </li><li>Must be vaccinated for hepatitis B, have provided evidence of immunity, or have signed a declination form within ten days of initial assignment. </li><li>Must pass an annual tuberculin test. </li><li>Must be eligible for certification as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration at time of application, and obtain within one year of hire. </li><li>Must provide one's own source of transportation. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.</p> <ul> <li>Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. </li></ul> <p>UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT)</p> <p>Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.</p> <ul> <li>None. </li></ul> <p>AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMPLIANCE</p> <p>Louisville Metro Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
