<p>Overview</p> <p>The Opportunity</p> <p>The Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual issues associated with a multimillion-dollar projects, working directly with the General Counsel and the Project Executives. This role is integral to ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and effective legal support for project operations.</p> <p>Location</p> <p>You will work at our enterprise headquarters in Detroit, MI with frequent travel to projects as required.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Your key responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Interpret and advise project team on contract provisions and obligations </li><li>Within established time frames, draft and issue formal notices to: </li><li>Owner </li><li>Subcontractors </li><li>Insurance companies </li><li>Collaborate with the Risk Mitigation team to address: </li><li>OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program) </li><li>SDI (Subcontractor Default Insurance) </li><li>Other insurance obligations </li><li>Review and draft riders to standard subcontracts </li><li>Support the project team with: </li><li>Change order requirements </li><li>Change management processes </li><li>Ensure timely submission of all contractual documentation </li><li>Provide training and guidance to the operations team on contractual requirements </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To qualify for the role, you must have</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor (JD) </li><li>1-5 years of experience in construction law, contract interpretation, and risk management </li><li>Understanding of insurance programs (OCIP, SDI) </li><li>Excellent written communication and collaboration skills </li><li>Willing to work onsite at the project site and at our Headquarters </li></ul> <p>Ideally, you'll also have</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with internal business software and databases, including SharePoint and CMIC </li></ul> <p>EEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V</p> <p>Walbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity in the workforce.
