A-State participates in E-Verify.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Athletic Academic Coordinator for the Charles Luter Family Academic Success Center will</p> <p>provide comprehensive academic support to multiple sports and their student-athletes. This</p> <p>position is responsible for delivering individualized academic guidance, monitoring NCAA</p> <p>eligibility, and tracking academic progress toward degree completion. The coordinator will report</p> <p>directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Services.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Academic Eligibility & Degree Progress Monitoring</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate degree plans and monitor NCAA Progress Toward Degree benchmarks (6, 18, 24 </li></ul> <p>credit hours and percentage requirements).</p> <ul> <li>Participate in the eligibility certification process for assigned student-athletes. </li><li>Evaluate high school and junior college transcripts to determine initial eligibility and transfer </li></ul> <p>credit.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with administrative responsibilities related to academic eligibility and compliance. </li></ul> <p>Academic Reporting & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Produce academic reports for coaches and athletic administrators, including grades, study hall </li></ul> <p>attendance, tutoring participation, and progress updates.</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with coaches regarding student-athlete academic status, concerns, and </li></ul> <p>support needs.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to support student-athlete academic success </li></ul> <p>Recruiting Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist coaches during the recruitment process by meeting with prospective student-athletes and </li></ul> <p>families during official and unofficial visits.</p> <ul> <li>Provide accurate information about academic programs, support services, and eligibility </li></ul> <p>requirements.</p> <p>Compliance & Integrity</p> <ul> <li>Maintain strict adherence to University, SBC, and NCAA rules and regulations to ensure academic </li></ul> <p>integrity and ethical operations.</p> <ul> <li>Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding of student records. </li></ul> <p>Student Support & Risk Identification</p> <ul> <li>Build effective relationships with student-athletes from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. </li><li>Identify at-risk student-athletes and make timely referrals to appropriate support services. </li><li>Monitor academic performance and work proactively to address concerns. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the Charles Luter Family Academic Success Center. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>Knowledge of basic computer software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.</p> <p>Working knowledge of NCAA Division I academic eligibility policies and procedures.</p> <p>Ability to learn and effectively use systems such as Banner, DegreeWorks, Teamworks, and all</p> <p>Microsoft Office applications.</p> <p>Ability to identify at-risk student-athletes and make appropriate referrals to campus or</p> <p>departmental resources.</p> <p>Strong interest in supporting the academic, personal, and professional development of</p> <p>student-athletes.</p> <p>Strong work ethic with excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.</p> <p>High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.</p> <p>Familiarity with NCAA academic eligibility requirements and compliance expectations.</p> <p>General Days/Hours:</p> <p>Monday - Sr. Associate Athletic Director of Academic Services at</p> <p>sbuckner@astate.ed</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.</p> <p>One to two years of experience in academic support, academic advising, student services, or a</p> <p>related field.</p> <p>Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, specifically related to academic eligibility and</p> <p>Progress Toward Degree.</p> <p>Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.</p> <p>Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including student-athletes, coaches,</p> <p>faculty, and staff.</p> <p>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn</p> <p>academic/athletics software systems.</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.</p> <p>Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed.</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Sport Management, Business, or a related field.</p> <p>Two or more years of direct experience working in academic support for student-athletes at</p> <p>the collegiate level.</p> <p>Familiarity with student information systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.</p> <p>Experience working with at-risk student populations and implementing academic</p> <p>interventions.</p> <p>Knowledge of learning strategies, academic skill development, and study hall/tutoring program</p> <p>management.</p> <p>Strong ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively</p> <p>with coaches and administrators.</p> <p>Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of student athletes.</p> <p>E-Verify Participation Notice:</p> <p>https://www.e-verify.gov/sites/default/files/everify/posters/EVerifyParticipationPoster.pdf</p> <p>E-Verify Right to Work:</p> <p>https://www.e-verify.gov/sites/default/files/everify/posters/IER_RightToWorkPoster%20Eng_Es.pdf</p>
