<p>Health & Bio Skills Teacher</p> <p>East Grand Middle School</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Health for all students in grades 6-8</p> <p>BioSkills as an elective for students in grades 7-8</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>East Grand Middle School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate teacher to join our team.</p> <p>The position includes teaching 6th, 7th & 8th grade health in alignment with Colorado Academic</p> <p>Standards using FLASH and 3Rs curriculum. This course will also include SEL skills and topics.</p> <p>In addition, this person will teach an elective bioskills course to include cooking, job exploration and</p> <p>skills, money management, naturalist-focused content, etc. This person hired for this position will have</p> <p>some discretion on what is covered in this elective course.</p> <p>General responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned to state standards, preparing and</p> <p>delivering lessons, creating and supervising activities for students, adapting instruction to meet</p> <p>individual learning needs, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with</p> <p>and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community</p> <p>members, and participating in school events.</p> <p>In addition, a qualified candidate should:</p> <ul> <li>Possess knowledge of current pedagogy </li><li>Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity </li></ul> <p>and interests of the students</p> <ul> <li>Establish and communicate clear outcomes for all lessons, classwork, and projects. </li><li>Support the program of study, using a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, </li></ul> <p>and technology</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a model for the district's mission, vision, and goals </li><li>Analyze and use appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Appropriate Colorado teaching license (health endorsement). Effective communication and interpersonal</p> <p>skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills are necessary.</p> <p>Working Environment:</p> <p>East Grand Middle School is located in Granby, Colorado, 90 miles NW of Denver and 20 miles from the</p> <p>Winter Park Ski area. School is in session Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. EGMSS has</p> <p>approximately 300 students in grades 6-8 and serves the communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash,</p> <p>Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and beyond.</p>
