<p>Job Title: Engineering Manager</p> <p>Reports To: C.O.O.</p> <p>Summary/Objective:</p> <p>The engineering manager plans, organizes, directs, or coordinates engineering activities to meet company objectives for design, new part/process development and improvement of existing parts/processes by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.</p> <p>Essential Functions/Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Select, develop, train, and supervise engineering staff. </li><li>Create and maintain part master, part routing, operational prints, tooling prints and other documents as required on production parts. </li><li>Review, approve and process customer-initiated changes and internal change requests. </li><li>Provide technical guidance/assistance to customers, suppliers, and co-workers. </li><li>Create miscellaneous non-production technical drawings and non-technical documents as required. </li><li>Establish and maintain robust engineering document control systems. </li><li>Develop, determine, and implement policies, procedures, and standards. </li><li>Report on and maintain Key Process Indicator (KPI) goals. </li><li>Provide assistance on new equipment justification projects. </li><li>Participate in cost reduction/process improvement projects. </li><li>Promote Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principles as part of continuous improvement activities. </li></ul> <p>Equipment/Machines Used:</p> <ul> <li>Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (Epicor) </li><li>Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD) </li><li>Microsoft Office applications (outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) </li><li>Measure equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, etc.) </li><li>Finite Element Analysis software (DEFORM) </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Much of the day is spent sitting and working in a professional work environment. </li><li>Frequent exposure to normal machine shop environment (smoke, oil mist, and shop noise) </li><li>Travel is minimal and is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required based on customer or supplier needs. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree preferred </li><li>10 years of related work experience </li></ul> <p>Experience in all phases of tool design, fastener manufacturing and product engineering</p>
