<p>Utah Valley University is seeking a Specialist - Driver.</p> <p>Under the direction and supervision of the UFRA Program Manager of Transportation/ Logistic this position maintains, prepares, and delivers supplies, props, and equipment, and tools necessary for training courses, academic courses, operations, and organization events statewide. This position functions in a supportive role for staff and faculty, and performs other job related duties as assigned</p> <ul> <li>Secures and schedules equipment, manpower, supplies, and tools associated with classes, organization operations, events, and activities. </li><li>Acquires supplies to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operations of the Logistics division. Reports any damages to, defects, failures, or safety hazards to supervisor, and takes appropriate action as advised. </li><li>Prepares and delivers supplies (with appropriate approvals), props, equipment, and tools as necessary for training classes, academic classes, and standard operations, and organization events. </li><li>Enters and updates data associated with inventory control, scheduling and maintenance of equipment. </li><li>Acquires and/or maintains certifications required to preform various duties, including but not limited to forklift operations, proper repair of turnout gear, maintenance of SCBAs, etc.. </li><li>Assists with training ground maintenance with respect to snow removal, general repairs, installations, and refurbishments. </li><li>Performs other job duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Graduation with a high school diploma.</p> <p> </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduated with a high school diploma or equivalency and three years of experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and experience totaling three years of experience related to the summary of duties. </li><li>Must have a Class A CDL License with a good driving record. </li></ul> <p>Licenses or Certifications</p> <p>Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred but not required.</p> <ul> <li>Skill with managing and prioritizing multiple projects and assignments. </li><li>Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to be able to perform the job. </li><li>Skills in maintenance and repair of large mobile equipment such as semi-trucks, loaders, and firefighting equipment. </li><li>Interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills. </li><li>Skill in written and oral communication. </li><li>Ability to lift 50+ pounds. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate verbally, non-verbally, and in writing. </li><li>Ability to maintain accurate records and files. </li><li>Ability to operate wire, arc, and oxyacetylene welders and associated tools and materials used in fabrication </li><li>Ability to read blueprints. </li><li>Ability to acquire and maintain certifications requiring the various duties, including but not exclusive to CDL, forklift operations, proper repair of turnout gear, maintenance of SCBAs, etc. </li></ul>
