Cayuga Health's commitment to our employees includes competitive compensation, comprehensive employee benefits programs, and the opportunity to explore and build a career in healthcare through our many professional development programs.</p> <p>The Unit Clerk supports the nursing staff by performing clerical duties and assisting with patient care.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates with other departments as necessary- maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security, etc. </li><li>Performs clerical duties such as ordering supplies, answering the telephone, delivering messages, making charts, coordinating and organizing transfer paperwork, and more. </li><li>Supports patient care- making appointments, calling providers, and assisting with prior authorizations. </li><li>Answers call bells and coordinates bed assignments with Charge nurses. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school or equivalent experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Prior patient care </li><li>Customer service experience </li><li>Clerical experience </li></ul> <p>Physical requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard). </li><li>Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
