<p>Mechanical Design Engineer - Launch Systems</p> <p>Experience Level: Intermediate</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and take ownership of designing and activating production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects and collaborate closely with launch operations teams to deliver high-quality, functional, and aesthetically refined hardware.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, build, and activate production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems. </li><li>Analyze and develop mechanical systems for launch and recovery operations. </li><li>Demonstrate end-to-end project ownership, including coordination of build, testing, and activation. </li><li>Collaborate with launch operations teams to ensure products meet form, function, and aesthetic standards. </li><li>Apply technical knowledge in structural sizing, mechanisms, and design while balancing cost and schedule considerations. </li><li>Present cost and schedule trade-off proposals to leadership. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Mechanical engineering fundamentals </li><li>FEA and structural analysis </li><li>Siemens NX </li><li>GD&T application </li><li>Familiarity with simulation tools (ANSYS, FEMAP, Abaqus) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Experience: 1+ years in mechanical design, analysis, or building mechanical structures in a professional setting </li><li>Project management experience in aerospace, industrial, or power generation industries </li><li>Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications </li><li>Hands-on approach and willingness to assist in project completion </li><li>Excellent collaboration skills with technicians, engineers, and managers </li><li>Proactive, self-starter attitude with ability to lead projects from start to finish </li></ul> <p>Additional Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Passion for aerospace and innovative mechanical systems </li><li>Ability to make development decisions based on cost and schedule constraints </li><li>Skilled in presenting technical proposals to leadership </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Cocoa, FL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
