<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>Test Facilities Electrician</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2026-18692</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 6</p> <p>Category: Manufacturing Support/Trades</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The D237 Test Services and Support Electrician is responsible to support the performance of the Steam and Electric Plant (S&EP), and Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Test programs for the VIRGINIA Class and COLUMBIA Class in both Groton and Quonset Point, and routing, installing, and servicing various electrical temporary services and systems.</p> <p>Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Standing crib issue point attendant ensuring correct materials are issued to testers that are in compliance with application, rating, and conformity to their intended end use. </li><li>Routing, installation, and maintenance of Shore Power and Pier Diesel cabling and diesel load testing. </li><li>Reading and interpreting isometric, electrical system, and test equipment drawings/diagrams for kit building and test equipment assembly. </li><li>Achieving and maintaining qualifications in NAVSEA 6010, Electrostatic Discharge, Limited Radiation Worker, and Tag-Out. </li><li>Conducting preventative maintenance of test and shipboard equipment to include electrical testing and safety checks of Test Facilities cabling / equipment and performing necessary repairs of Test Facilities equipment. </li><li>Working shipboard with electrical testers to troubleshoot and analyze issues that arise with test equipment and support continuous improvement initiatives. </li><li>Routing, installing, and servicing various electrical temporary services and systems for Test </li><li>Using shop equipment to clean, service, repair, and fabricate test equipment (ultra-sonic sink, drill press, etc.). </li><li>Operating with the highest level of integrity and formality with strict compliance on material history and handling. </li><li>Possessing a flexible schedule to accommodate major milestone and key event testing as required. </li><li>Performing heavy lifting, pulling and climbing (ladders) and work in tight/confined spaces for extended periods of time. </li><li>Be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Self-motivated and technically minded with an understanding of the submarine test program </li><li>Knowledgeable of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code </li><li>Possess electrical competencies </li><li>Organizational skills including inventory, attention to detail, and customer service. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED or 2 years of related technical experience </li><li>1+ year of electrical experience </li><li>Prior military training or electrical job experience or training from Vocational or Technical School or Community College. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Warehousing experience </li></ul>
