<p>Position Title Instructor/Nursing - Behavioral Health Division Health Professions, Culinary Arts & Hospitality(DIV) Department Nursing Job Description</p> <p>The primary responsibility of the Nursing Instructor shall be to provide quality and safe instruction for the students by working with them in classrooms, laboratories, clinicals, individual conferences and related activities.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: JOB-SPECIFIC</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for organizing and teaching courses in accordance with the catalog description, course outline and syllabus. </li><li>Provide students in college courses with a written course outline and syllabus at the beginning of each term. </li><li>Prepare and deliver lessons that are pedagogically sound and utilize appropriate instructional technology. </li><li>Schedule regular office hours for advising and consultation with students. </li><li>Maintain accurate academic records of students and submit required reports to the dean. </li><li>Participate in the development and evaluations of the progress of learning. </li><li>Assess and document learning outcomes at the course, program and institutional levels. </li><li>Develop innovative methods for the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching effectiveness. </li><li>Recommend textbooks, changes in textbooks, and instructional media and equipment to the dean. </li><li>Remain current in the scholarship of your discipline and teaching methodology. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: STANDARD TO THE ROLE</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a faculty advisor as appointed by the appropriate dean. </li><li>Perform special assigned duties incident to registration. </li><li>Advise students concerning academic issues and make appropriate referrals when necessary. </li><li>Serve as a member of faculty committees and attend all faculty meetings in accordance with the faculty contract. </li><li>Assist the dean with development of short term and long-range planning goals for their discipline and/or program. </li><li>Assist the dean with orientation, training and mentoring of part-time faculty. </li><li>Prepare for and participate in lay advisory meetings. </li><li>Maintain a collegial relationship with others at the college. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required </li><li>Current registration as a professional nurse in Pennsylvania required </li><li>A minimum of 4 years clinical nursing experience, including experience in Behavioral Health </li><li>Evidence of maintaining theoretical and clinical competency </li><li>Education and/or experience in curriculum development and education pedagogical background </li><li>Prior teaching experience required, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. </li><li>Maintain current CPR/BLS through the American Heart Association </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Occasional sitting, climbing stairs, or using elevator </li><li>Frequent standing/walking or otherwise moving around campus and health care facility </li><li>Sustain repetitive movements </li><li>Maintain physical tolerance to work an entire shift </li><li>Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. and pushing up to 50 pounds independently </li><li>Occasional bending, twisting and squatting </li><li>Work is primarily conducted in a typical indoor health care facility with appropriate lighting, noises, and temperature control </li></ul> <p>Salary $58,884 (minimum; salary placement to be determined based on eligible experience per the collective bargaining agreement) Schedule Days/Hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number F-2023-021-P Number of Vacancies 1 Desired Start Date Position End Date (if temporary) Job Open Date 04/23/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Please have your current resume, cover letter, transcripts, and information for three professional references to provide with your application.</p> <p>Advertising Summary</p>
