<p>Job Description:</p> <p>This position will be expected to work from both Avon Middle High School and Quincy College locations on a regular basis with a primary location at Avon Middle High School. This position is a maximum of 17 hours per week and does not offer benefits or paid time off.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for supporting the ECHS program from an administrative perspective; </li><li>Collaborate with the AMHS Guidance Counselor and will also serve as the liaison between all ECHS students and support services at the College, including Student Accessibility Services, Student Wellness, and Tutoring; </li><li>Create and facilitate programs focused on college readiness, student support and academic services; </li><li>Collaborate with Quincy College faculty and staff (to include QC Advisors) to ensure that all ECHS students have access to Quincy College services and an understanding of all academic and student support services; </li><li>Create and oversee opportunities for ECHS students and their parents/guardians to be engaged in the ECHS program and transition to post-secondary education; </li><li>Design and share a newsletter, along with other regularly scheduled communications to all ECHS students, parents, and families; </li><li>Educate students on topics related to post-secondary education, including financial aid, credit transferability, academic support, and degree options in creative and accessible ways; </li><li>Initiate academic support programs and procedures that are responsive to the needs of ECHS and their families; </li><li>Develop and oversee the college readiness assessment process for all ECHS high schools, in collaboration with the AMHS Guidance Counselor for appropriate course placement; </li><li>Cooperate with the principal and ECHS site team members in developing alternative programs and new service delivery patterns to meet the needs of the at-risk students; </li><li>Track and follow up with all students who utilize the academic and non-academic support services; </li><li>Create and share an outreach and communication plan for all individuals and offices providing academic and non-academic support for ECHS students; </li><li>Coordinate and organize all postsecondary and long-term planning programs and workshops in consultation with the AMHS Guidance Counselor and Quincy College student services; </li><li>Communicate all program and workshop opportunities related to academic and non-academic challenges, as well as postsecondary opportunities and long-term planning to all ECHS students; </li><li>Attend regularly scheduled ECHS site team meetings to insure that every effort is made to meet the individual needs of each student; </li><li>Works with the high school principal, assistant principal, and department chairs to coordinate and monitor the ECHS program and to bring about changes as appropriate; </li><li>Support and encourage the work of the ECHS site team; </li><li>Assist with follow-up on all ECHS surveys, assessments, data collection, and other research projects as necessary; </li><li>Adhere to all Avon Public Schools and Quincy College policies, such as: guidelines for reporting child abuse and neglect, guidelines for detailing with a sudden crisis impacting the school community, and procedures for responding to like threatening situations; </li><li>Cooperate with the staff who support ELL and Special Education students, in developing programming, coordinating services, and ensuring that programs and services are responsive to ECHS student needs. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred; </li><li>Demonstrated ability in directive and supportive leadership; </li><li>Sensitivity to the needs of students; </li><li>Experience working in the K-12 and/or university setting; </li><li>Experience working with an Early College program is preferred, but not required; </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Early College High School program may find appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <p>This position will be expected to work from both the high school and Quincy College locations on a regular basis with a primary location at Avon Middle High School. Some local travel may also be required.
