<p>The City of Pewaukee is seeking a Utility Operator to join our exceptional Water & Sewer Utility team. Pay is commensurate with experience, as outlined below.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>Utility Operators are responsible for the repair and maintenance of municipal water and sanitary sewer facilities. Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Operate SCADA systems and inspect pump stations daily </li><li>Maintain and repair water/sewer infrastructure, including hydrants, valves, pumps, and piping </li><li>Perform water sampling, testing, and meter reading </li><li>Assist with DNR regulatory reporting and compliance </li><li>Locate underground utilities and inspect new connections </li><li>Handle water treatment chemicals and supervise flushing programs </li><li>Perform Cross Connection Control inspections </li><li>Respond to customer water and sewer complaints </li></ul> <p>Career Levels and Compensation</p> <p>OPERATOR I (Entry Level)</p> <ul> <li>0-2 years of experience </li><li>Wisconsin Waterworks Operator Class G and D certifications </li><li>Hourly pay range: $27.10 - $30.97 - pay is commensurate with experience </li></ul> <p>OPERATOR II</p> <ul> <li>3-4 years of experience </li><li>Wisconsin Waterworks Operator Class G and D certifications </li><li>Basic General Wastewater with Collections Systems subclass certifications </li><li>Hourly pay range: $29.35 - $33.54 - pay is commensurate with experience </li></ul> <p>OPERATOR III</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience </li><li>All Operator II certifications plus Iron Removal and VOC </li><li>Hourly pay range: $31.61 - $36.12 - pay is commensurate with experience </li></ul> <p>Hours of work are 6:30 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. All operators are in the on-call rotation and must reside within 40 minutes of city hall.</p>
