Together, we're united in our mission and these shared values: we're motivated by our faith, we support one another, we champion justice, we pursue excellence, and we're in it for the long haul.</p> <p>Bethany is seeking a compassionate and experienced Assistant Unit Supervisor to join our team at the Teen Boys' Residential Home. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for youth. The ideal candidate will bring strong management experience, soft skills for engaging with teens, and the flexibility to adapt to varying schedules.</p> <p>This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Serve as shift supervisor, assist with scheduling, and providing guidance to staff to ensure consistent coverage and team cohesion; </li><li>Lead onboarding and training efforts for new employees, including scheduling sessions and tracking training compliance; </li><li>Facilitate life skills development, resident meetings, and coordinate outings/events to support treatment goals; </li><li>Oversee unit inventory (clothing, hygiene, food, supplies) and manage resident logistics such as laundry and phone access; </li><li>Promote effective communication and collaboration across the team and consult on treatment and policy matters; </li><li>Conduct performance reviews, approve timesheets and leave requests, and contribute to leadership and program development committees; </li><li>Ensure adherence to agency, state, and federal guidelines; maintain a safe environment and perform physical interventions when necessary; </li><li>Serve as a consistent, supportive presence and role model for teen residents, helping them build trust, structure, and life skills; </li><li>Complete other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent; </li><li>Must have a minimum of 4 years experience in child welfare setting; </li><li>Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required; </li><li>Proven management experience and ability to lead and support a team; </li><li>Strong interpersonal and soft skills to build trust and rapport with teen residents; </li><li>Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays; </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, compassionate customer service, and ability to work independently; </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; </li><li>Ability to service as a positive role model and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team; </li><li>Temperament suited for working with special needs in a youth setting; </li><li>Must be able to pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill the essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident; </li><li>Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization; </li><li>Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage; </li><li>Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; </li><li>Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination, or seeking an exemption; </li><li>Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity. </li></ul> <p>#LI-KD1</p>
