This role involves monitoring the facility's entrances and exits, patrolling the premises, responding to incidents, and ensuring that all individuals in the building are safe. The Security Guard is a key member of the team, helping to enforce building policies and providing support to staff and students as needed.</p> <p>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Facility Monitoring: Oversee the security of the building by monitoring all entrances and exits, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the facility. </li><li>Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the premises to deter and detect any unusual or suspicious activities. </li><li>Incident Response: Respond promptly to any incidents, emergencies, or security breaches, and take appropriate action to resolve the situation while ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site. </li><li>Visible Presence: Maintain a visible presence in the building to deter potential security threats and to provide a sense of safety and security to staff, students, and visitors. </li><li>Policy Enforcement: Assist in enforcing building policies and procedures, including checking identification, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. </li><li>Support to Staff and Students: Provide assistance and support to staff, students, and visitors as needed, including offering directions, answering questions, answering telephone calls, and addressing concerns. </li><li>Documentation: Keep detailed logs of any incidents, security breaches, or unusual activities that occur during the shift, and report these to the appropriate authorities. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred. </li><li>Skills: Strong observational skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and effective communication skills. </li><li>Certifications: Security guard certification or license, as required by state law preferred. </li><li>Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; ability to respond quickly to emergencies. </li><li>Availability: Must be available to work day and/or evening hours, including some weekends as needed. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires working indoors and outdoors, often in a standing or walking position for the majority of the shift.
