Could you be ours?</p> <p>Role Purpose</p> <ul> <li>The scope of this job includes instrumental analysis of process streams and finished products utilizing technology such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, ICP, pH, XRF, IC and titrations etc. The data generated is used to support the manufacturing processes and for quality control of finished products. Data entry may be made into Labware LIMS, and SAP. Data sharing is also conducted by hard copy, fax, phone, or spreadsheets. This position requires rotating 12 hour shifts and shift flexibility to cover vacations and other absences. </li><li>Employees may be assigned to perform any task in the Plant which they can perform safely. </li></ul> <p>Safety Accountabilities - EHS Critical Role Level 4</p> <p>Protecting our people and the environment is foundational to our business</p> <p>Level 4 - Important Role</p> <ul> <li>EHS focus is 100% task oriented </li><li>Responsible for area specific EHS procedure/policy </li><li>Responsible for reporting all incidents, defects, and hazards </li></ul> <p>All employees are responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHS policies and procedures </li><li>Being responsible for their own actions </li><li>Carrying out their work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves, others and the environment </li><li>Reporting all incidents, defects, hazards and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken </li><li>Suggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure EHS Support's activities and services are carried out in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable and cost effective manner </li></ul> <p>Each team member is expected to support the Tate & Lyle culture where Environment, Health and Safety are the overriding values in all activities. Included in this is abidance with our Life Saving Principles (LSPs) and our STOP WORK AUTHORITY which are developed to strengthen our workplace safety, prevent serious injury or loss of life.</p> <p>Main Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Experience in calibrations and troubleshooting of analytical equipment </li><li>Familiarity with quality systems in a regulated environment including GMP, GLP, FCC, USP requirements </li><li>Familiarity with LIMS systems and chromatography data collection systems. Labware LIMS and Empower a plus </li><li>A team player that possesses strong analytical, oral/written communication and computer skills. </li><li>A customer focus with understanding of customer needs </li><li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize with attention to detail </li><li>Ability to work in fast-paced environment/adapt to changing procedures with minimal supervision </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Lifting of up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance </li><li>Use of lab tools above shoulders -reaching/twisting/lifting </li><li>Ability to perform nightly maintenance </li><li>Lift and position 4 liter mobile phase to an overhead station </li><li>Ability to stand and work for greater than 2 hours </li><li>Removal of waste from an above the waist counter to a transfer wagon </li><li>Prepping and running samples and instrument manipulation in small areas </li><li>Independently perform the analytical lab duties on night shift coverage </li></ul> <p>Performance Measures</p> <p>The incumbent will be measured against site EHS, Quality, Production, Reliability and Leadership goals.</p> <p>Skills and Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in a science related field or equivalent experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment </li><li>Minimum of 2 years' lab experience of general laboratory duties </li><li>Some systems-based experience in Document Control is an asset (i.e.. SharePoint) </li><li>Strong computer skills esp. Microsoft Office suite of products. </li><li>Able to coordinate and organize multiple deliverables at a high level </li><li>Must be well-organized, attentive to detail and efficient. </li><li>Able to communicate well verbally and orally. </li><li>Able to focus on a task for long periods of time. </li><li>Must be skilled in internal and external customer service. </li></ul> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Tate & Lyle will base all of its employment decisions on job-related standards and its commitment to equal employment opportunity (EEO).
