<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Professional Support Staff</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/22/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Various High Schools</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>ASAP</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>04/29/2026</p> <p>&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>School Safety and Security Personnel</p> <p>10-Month Full-Time Hourly Position</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement, military, public safety, or security </li><li>Supervisory experience preferred </li><li>Possess a valid driver's license </li><li>Strong people and process management skills </li><li>Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and demonstrate appropriate management of sensitive information </li><li>Ability to interact with students, staff, and parents positively and professionally </li><li>Successfully complete training and exhibit skills learned in training which may include but are not limited to knowledge of school rules, decision making, equity, trauma informed interactions, health safety (first-aid, CPR, AED, NARCAN, trauma kits, etc.), fire alarm and evacuation protocols, building safety and evacuation protocols, traffic control, confidentiality, searches, security camera footage review, camera system management, radio use, and de-escalation techniques including physical separation of people during physical fights. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensures the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises. </li><li>Interacts with students and visitors with respect and dignity. </li><li>Communicates effectively with students, staff and visitors. </li><li>Be visible and assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment. </li><li>Assist in de-escalating student conflict situations. </li><li>Intervene in situations that pose a threat to students, staff, visitors or school safety. </li><li>Patrol, inspect and monitor assigned areas of the school buildings, grounds and parking lots to deter, detect, report and stop violations of the law, school board policies and/or school rules, monitor and ensure traffic flow and identify potential safety concerns. </li><li>Secures premises and personnel at entry points, screening visitors and actively monitor facility to ensure perimeter security. </li><li>Inspect and manage camera systems and operations. </li><li>Detects, investigates and reports unauthorized or suspicious persons, vehicles and activities. </li><li>Monitor 2-way radio traffic and respond appropriately. </li><li>Notifies the administrative staff, police, fire department, or other appropriate authorities of security or emergency situations. </li><li>Assists administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations. </li><li>Assists with planning, coordinating and working special and extracurricular events and projects. </li><li>Assists administrators with the enforcement of all school rules and managing student behavior. </li><li>Assists with investigations as directed and assigned by administration. </li><li>Successfully completes training and exhibit skills learned in training which may include but are not limited to knowledge of school rules, decision making, equity, trauma informed interactions, health safety (first-aid, CPR, AED, NARCAN, trauma kits, etc.), fire alarm and evacuation protocols, building safety and evacuation protocols, traffic control, confidentiality, searches, security camera footage review, camera system management, radio use, and de-escalation techniques including physical separation of people during physical fights. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by school- or district-level administration. </li></ul> <p>Reports to the Director of Administrative Services and Principalship.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Benefit information</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Safety and Security Salary Schedule</p>
