<p>About the role:</p> <p>Samsara's Revenue Accounting team is responsible for the appropriate recognition of revenue and related disclosure items. The team works collaboratively with Order to Cash, Deal Desk, Legal, Sales and other cross-functional teams to ensure the appropriate and accurate application of ASC 606. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best. </li></ul> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee revenue contract reviews ensuring proper accounting practices in conformity with ASC 606 and SOX requirements. </li><li>Partner with Deal Desk, Sales and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with our revenue policies while proposing innovative solutions that assist them in resolving our customers' constraints. </li><li>Lead the financial close and SOX compliance processes for the Revenue accounting team ensuring deliverables are provided accurately and on-time. </li><li>Supervise the execution of special projects that improve our customer experience, automate tasks and enhance our systems to drive efficiency and reduce risk. </li><li>Collaborate with Order to Cash, General Ledger Accounting, Finance Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and drive process improvements. </li><li>Support the Director, Revenue to operationalize revenue accounting policies as the business evolves and evaluate the appropriateness of key assertions and estimates. </li><li>Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. </li></ul> <p>Minimum requirements for the role:</p> <ul> <li>8+ years of combined experience working in public accounting and revenue accounting with an emphasis on ASC 606. </li><li>Strong grasp of ASC 606 with ability to research, interpret, memorialize and apply accounting standards to Samsara's facts and circumstances. </li><li>Experience managing or leading a team. </li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and best practices. </li><li>BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent required. </li></ul> <p>An ideal candidate also has:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated resilience in operating in fast-paced, high growth environments. </li><li>Netsuite, Salesforce, and integrations experience. </li><li>Exposure to high growth public SaaS company environments. </li><li>Familiarity with combined performance obligations accounting policies in a multi-product environment. </li><li>ERP implementation experience. </li><li>CPA designation. </li></ul>
