<p>Francis Marion University and the Office of Housing and Residence Life invite applications for a Residence Life Coordinator. Under limited supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the overall supervision of the University's Residence Life program, including, but not limited to: residential community, resident assistant program development, supervision of resident assistants, student development and conduct, enforcement of housing policies, and residential living. This twelve-month position includes live-in on-campus housing.</p> <p>The Residence Life Coordinator is a vital member of the FMU campus community. The Residence Life Coordinator works with the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Dean of Students, and other departmental staff in developing and implementing management and learning initiatives for the entire Residence Life operation. Teamwork and collaboration across campus and throughout the office of Housing and Residence Life is vital to the success of this position.</p> <p>Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide overall supervision of the Residence Life, Resident Assistant program. </li><li>Assists with operational processes such as student move-in, physical room audits, safety inspections, move-outs, and damage/replacement fees. </li><li>Directly supervise Resident Assistants, including recruiting, selection, and training of resident assistants; routine supervision, continual training, meetings, and support for the resident assistant program. </li><li>Regularly communicate and provide guidance to residents; provide support in the development of the residential community and promote community standards. </li><li>Participate in the implementation and enforcement of student conduct and its processes as directed by the University. </li><li>Assist with the day-to-day office work duties and communications. </li><li>Participate in staffing housing information tables at scheduled events such as open houses and orientations. </li><li>Maintain daily office hours set by the housing office and the university. </li><li>On-call scheduled rotation is required to provide service to our residents; weekend and evening hours will be required for scheduled events and, as needed, for emergent, crisis, and other situations. </li></ul> <p>State Requirement: A bachelor's degree.</p> <p>Francis Marion University Requirements:</p> <p>Must have the following skills/abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li><li>Advanced computer skills. </li><li>Read and comprehend instructions. </li><li>Respond to correspondence. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Accommodate the needs of students. </li><li>Provide appropriate response during emergency housing situations. </li><li>Move and lift furniture or other objects weighing up to 25 lbs. </li><li>Visually inspect rooms. </li><li>Climb (ascend and descend) stairs in multi-level buildings. </li><li>Must have a valid and current driver's license. </li></ul> <p>FM Preferences: A master's degree in Student Personnel, Student Life, Residence Life, Higher Education, or Business preferred. One to five years of experience in higher education administration. Prior student housing experience is strongly preferred.</p> <p>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. Needs to</p> <p>State Classification: Student Services Program Coordinator I (CB65)</p> <p>Pay Grade: Gen06</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with abilities, experience, and state compensation guidelines</p> <p>Position start date: as early as April 2026</p> <p>Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm; evening and weekends as scheduled. On-call scheduled rotation is required to provide service to our residents; weekend and evening hours will be required for scheduled events and as needed, for emergent, crisis, and other situations. Summer hours may vary.</p> <p>Additional Remuneration: An apartment within the assigned residence complex is provided as a residence coordinator benefit, including utilities, and is partially furnished. Additional benefits include participation in the South Carolina State Retirement, medical, dental, and vision insurance programs.
