<p>Kforce has a client in Frederick, MD that is seeking a Staff Accountant.</p> <p>Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting team with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and post journal entries </li><li>Perform bank and account reconciliations </li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end close processes </li><li>Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts </li><li>Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed </li><li>Prepare financial reports and assist with variance analysis </li><li>Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 years of related experience </li><li>1-3+ years of accounting experience </li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP </li><li>Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups preferred) </li><li>Experience with accounting software/ERP systems </li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail </li></ul>
