<p>Head Band Director-Blue Valley Southwest High School</p> <p>Blue Valley USD 229 • www.bluevalleyk12.org</p> <p>High School Music Band Teacher</p> <p>Purpose Statement</p> <p>The job of High School Music Band Teacher is done for the purpose/s of creating a high school age program to provide students with a good foundation for college preparation and/or employment.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provides instruction to continually improve band instrument skills and knowledge. </li><li>Coordinates and directs group performances. </li><li>Develops lesson plans, writes and grades tests/quizzes, and assesses student performance. </li><li>Manages inventory of instruments, including daily usage of band instruments in band room/stage, instruments checked out to students for home and school practice, and maintenance/repairs to all instruments in the band department. </li><li>Schedules concerts, parades, groups, and resource rehearsals for all practices and performances. </li><li>Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students. </li><li>Maintains accurate, complete and correct student records as required by laws, district policies and administrative regulations. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>May direct and organize school activities, clubs and other extracurricular activities. </li><li>Performs administrative duties such as hall & cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading/unloading as assigned. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees, as required. </li><li>Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Benefits Information</p> <p>Competitive</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Competitive</p> <p>Employer Information</p>
