<p>The Department of Art + Design at Austin Peay State University is seeking applications for a Studio Technician to join our vibrant department.</p> <p>The APSU Department of Art + Design is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and offers BFA and BA degrees with concentrations in Studio Art, Animation and Visual Effects, Graphic Design, Art History, and Art Education. The department consists of eightneen full-time faculty, three full-time staff, and twelve part-time instructors who celebrate the mission of teaching and innovation in serving 350+ undergraduate majors. We aspire to provide an accepting environment that empowers students to ask questions, think critically, take risks, and develop intellectual and creative curiosity.</p> <p>The Studio Technician is a full-time, 12 month position that supports the students, faculty, and staff who utilize the facilities and equipment in the Department of Art + Design, specifically in the areas of Ceramics, Sculpture, and student galleries. This position also includes the development and maintenance of other studios, galleries, classrooms within the facilities on a project-basis. The Studio Technician is the primary contact for Health and Safety in the department. This position reports directly to the Department Chair.</p> <p>Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 180,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN.</p>
