<p>Under the direct supervision of the Radiologist and department director and supervisor. Is responsible for the operation of radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic radiographic exams.</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>No prior work experience required.</p> <p>Licenses & Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare Provider (CPR) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prefer 1 year of experience performing medical radiography. </li><li>Prefer training in an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology </li><li>Must pass registry within 6 months of hire. </li></ul> <p>Area of Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Is knowledgeable of hospital policy and procedures; safety, life safety, security, equipment, utilities, disaster preparedness, hazardous materials and waste. Follows standard precautions. </li><li>Performs quality exams consistently to meet standards set by the radiologist. </li><li>Performs radiographic exams as assigned under the supervision of a registered technologist, i.e., CT portables, C-arm, general and emergency radiographic studies. </li><li>Responsible for assisting and keeping radiology equipment and accessories in satisfactory operating </li><li>Responsible for assisting during fluoroscopic procedures and other special type procedures. </li><li>Completes and assists in all orientation of new employees. </li><li>Demonstrates competency in patient care according to the age of the patient and population served: neonate, served: neonate, infant, toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent, adult and geriatric. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of pain management and responds appropriately. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient's needs. </li><li>Demonstrates understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients (age and diagnosis). </li><li>Responsible for CQI related duties and QA/QC duties as assigned. Solutions to problems often require coordination with other departments.</p> <p>Physical Effort</p> <p>Considerable physical effort - Lifts, carries, or handles medium weight equipment, materials, or supplies most of day. Occasional physical effort with heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
