<p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: CLINICAL</p> <p>REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF CLINICAL SUPPORT STAFF</p> <p>SUPERVISES: N/A</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our multidisciplinary addiction recovery team. The CMA will play a vital role in supporting patients through their recovery journey by assisting with clinical care, medication administration, and coordination of services in a respectful and nonjudgmental environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome and room patients; document vital signs, medical history, and presenting symptoms </li><li>Assist providers during medical and behavioral health assessments </li><li>Administer prescribed medications and injections, including MAT (e.g., Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublocade) under provider supervision </li><li>Collect and process urine drug screens and lab specimens per protocol </li><li>Monitor and report withdrawal symptoms using appropriate clinical tools (e.g., COWS/CINA) </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR </li><li>Support coordination of care with behavioral health providers and case managers </li><li>Educate patients about medications, treatment plans, and self-care strategies </li><li>Maintain exam rooms and ensure cleanliness, supply stock, and infection control procedures </li><li>Uphold patient confidentiality, safety, and dignity at all times </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required </li><li>Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program </li><li>Current CMA certification (AAMA, NHA, or equivalent) </li><li>CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain) </li><li>Ability to remain calm and supportive in emotionally charged situations </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Experience working with EMRs and basic computer proficiency </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in addiction treatment, mental health, or behavioral healthcare </li><li>Knowledge of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols </li></ul>
