<p>In conjunction with and directly related to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Tanner Health System, the Employee Assistance Program counselor is a licensed mental health provider and preferably a certified employee assistance professional whose specialized training and experience makes her\him responsible for provision of clinical services.</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Master's Degree</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Four years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.</p> <p>Licenses & Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Professional Counselor </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to function effectively and calmly in crisis situations. </li><li>Certification or eligibility for certification as an Employee Assistance Professional by the Employee Assistance Certification Commission (EACC) preferred. </li><li>Holds a professional state licensure in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or clinical psychology. </li><li>Master's degree in clinical mental health area; i.e., psychology, social work, counseling. </li><li>Membership in appropriate state of national professional organization. </li><li>Membership in either EAPA or EASNA preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 4 years experience in provision of mental health clinical services </li></ul> <p>Area of Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists in maintaining working relationships with a wide variety of internal clients, external client organizations, treatment providers, and potential business prospects. </li><li>Maintains professional license, certification and ethical standards. </li><li>Provides high quality, ethical, timely and cost efficient assessment and short term problem resolution to clients - individuals and/organizations. </li><li>Provides referral, case management and follow-up services for clients-individuals and/organizations. </li><li>Stays current on professional, behavioral health care, clinical issues and clinical skills related to the field through continuing education and contact with professional associations or peers. </li><li>Assists in provision of after hours on-call coverage for EAP as needed. </li><li>Participates in provision of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to client organizations as needed. </li><li>Performs other responsibilities as may be necessary for the operation of the department. </li></ul> <p>Compliance Statement</p> <p>Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Effect usually confined within the organization. Most of work not subject to direct verification or check. Regularly works with some confidential data such as account, salaries, patient medical records, which if disclosed might have adverse internal or external effects.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>Occasionally uses assistance of aide or helper in performance of task</p> <p>Mental Demands</p> <p>Work involves a variety of problems in a general field, some of which are complex. Involves some independent judgment to decide what to do to assemble facts, determine variations from standard procedures, or plan other action to be taken to meet general objectives.</p> <p>Physical Effort</p> <p>Light physical effort - Much of work done while sitting but with more than normal standing or walking. Handles light materials intermittently.
