<p>Duties</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Teaching</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain a learning environment which is organized, predictable and promotes curiosity, creativity and social-emotional learning (SEL) </li><li>Provide learning experiences and developmental opportunities that support growth and development of the whole child </li><li>Maintain accurate records and documentation for Prevention Initiative programming </li><li>Collect data for evaluation, program monitoring, and reports </li><li>Maintain professional competence through in-service education opportunities/ training and annual Individual Professional Development Goals </li></ul> <p>Curriculum</p> <ul> <li>Implement Creative Curriculum studies through lesson planning which aligns with The Basics and IELDS benchmarks, based on the children's interests </li><li>Develop schedules and routines for programming for 2.5 hours/ 5 days weekly </li><li>Provide individual and small-group instruction </li><li>Provide ongoing observation and authentic assessment of children through use of Teaching Strategies (Gold) and maintain documentation of individual growth </li><li>Implement The Pyramid Model </li></ul> <p>Professional Duties</p> <ul> <li>Maintain two-way communication with families including parent-teacher conferences </li><li>Encourage parents to participate in family engagement opportunities </li><li>Develop activities for parents that promote parent participation and involvement at home </li><li>Communicate and collaborate with the childcare provider, co-teachers and ROE team </li><li>Participate in ROE staff meetings and all applicable professional development </li><li>Use IRIS to refer families for comprehensive services </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work experience in early childhood education especially with infants and toddlers</p> </li><li> <p>Hold or be pursuing an Illinois Gateways Infant Toddler Credential level 2 or beyond</p> </li><li> <p>Staff shall meet DCFS requirements of Section 407.100 as well as, requirements for providing services for infants and toddlers including:</p> </li><li> <p>be at least 19 years of age</p> </li><li> <p>have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) AND</p> </li><li> <p>have completed sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six OR</p> </li><li> <p>One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to foster a collaborative culture; possess a team-oriented attitude</p> </li><li> <p>Operates within an equity lens and from a strengths-based perspective</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient computer skills and data collection</p> </li><li> <p>Fit to work physical exam with TB screening</p> </li><li> <p>Reliable transportation</p> </li><li> <p>Pass a Criminal History Record Information fingerprint check</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Call Amanda Christensen at the DeKalb ROE for additional questions. 815-217-0460</p> <p>Reports to: PFA Director, Coordinator of Early Learning Programs</p> <p>Work schedule: 35 hours per week; 12 month position</p> <p>Compensation: $24-$26/ hour; IMRF benefits; limited paid holidays and sick time; health insurance supplement</p> <p>Link to District/Third Party Online Application Web Page</p> <p>https://www.applitrack.com/dekalb/onlineapp/default.aspx?choosedistrict=true&applitrackclient=37361</p> <p>School District</p> <p>https://dekalbcounty.org/departments/regional-office-of-education/job-vacancies/</p> <p>ILearn Link</p> <p>ILearn</p> <p>Report Card Link</p> <p>Illinois Report Card</p> <p>Job Posting Date</p> <p>3/7/2025</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>3/24/2025</p> <p>Start Date</p> <p>4/7/2025</p>
