<p>RN Long Term Care Educator - CNA Training Instructor</p> <p>Living Center South - Geneva, NY</p> <p>Finger Lakes Health | Full-Time Mon-Fri Days.</p> <p>Finger Lakes Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as the Educator and Instructor for our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program. This position teaches 4-week CNA classes held 7 times per year at Living Center South in Geneva, NY. The RN Educator provides both classroom and clinical instruction to support the development of high-quality long-term care staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach and supervise CNA students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and skills demonstrations.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate student progress and maintain required documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with New York State training requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Support new CNAs and long-term care staff with ongoing education and competency assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Model excellent customer service, professionalism, and the principles of a Healing Environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (RN).</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: BSN or willingness to pursue.</p> </li></ul> <p>License & Certifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.</p> </li><li> <p>BLS Certification (AHA).</p> </li><li> <p>Willing to obtain BLS Instructor Certification within 1 year.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required:</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 2 years RN experience in a long-term care setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners through one of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of a course in teaching adult learners or NYSED teacher certification</p> </li><li> <p>Two years teaching nursing/nursing-related programs to adults in an accredited academic setting</p> </li><li> <p>Two years teaching nurse aides in a long-term care setting</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: Experience teaching a CNA Training Program.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong communication and leadership skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop curriculum, assess learning needs, and evaluate outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable using audiovisual equipment and creating visual teaching materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional, respectful, and able to work well in a team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer literacy required; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Population-Specific Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge and skills to support adult and geriatric patient needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to supervise and guide staff/students providing age-appropriate care.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Finger Lakes Health?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Meaningful work shaping future CNAs and supporting high-quality long-term care.</p> </li><li> <p>Supportive leadership and strong organizational values.</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunities for professional development and education.</p> </li></ul>
